There’s many reasons why we would perform oral surgery. Most of what I do is through dental extractions. We only take out the teeth that absolutely need to come out.
That’s whether it’s fractured or severely decayed, meaning they have a really large cavity, or if the nerve that’s inside the tooth is infected. After the tooth is out, patients generally have multiple options as to how we either replace or restore their smile. That can be accomplished through partial dentures, implants, or bridges.

Breeze Through Your Surgery With Our Skilled Team
Our gentle approach to oral surgery ensures you’re comfortable and informed throughout your procedure. Your general dentist performs tooth extractions, from simple removals to more complex cases. While we handle many wisdom teeth extractions in our office, we may recommend a specialist for more complicated cases to ensure you receive the best possible care.
Before any procedure, we’ll:
- Take detailed X-rays to plan your surgery.
- Review your medical history.
- Explain the entire procedure step by step.
- Provide detailed aftercare instructions.
- Answer all your questions and concerns.
Understand Your Tooth Replacement Options
After your extraction, we offer several ways to restore your smile:
- Traditional Bridges – These custom-made appliances attach to neighboring teeth to fill the gap in your smile. A bridge looks natural and gives you reliable function.
- Complete or Partial Dentures – These removable appliances replace multiple missing teeth. They restore your ability to eat and speak confidently while maintaining your facial structure.
- Implant-Supported Crowns – A titanium implant in your jawbone will support a custom crown. This replacement tooth looks, feels, and functions just like your natural teeth.
- Implant-Supported Bridges – Multiple replacement teeth are anchored securely by dental implants. This provides exceptional stability and, unlike a traditional bridge or dentures, prevents bone loss in your jaw.

I can always expect exceptional service from Dr. Fulton and Rita, and somehow, they exceed my expectations. I can count on professionalism; personal, gentle, and caring service; and the latest of dental techniques. All of the support staff are friendly, efficient, and can get you in on time and out the door. This is the practice for you and your family! Updated, seen 5/24 and again care was great. New update. This time I made a desperate call on 3/23/26. A 24-year old cap on my front tooth came undone, and I was hoping for a quick repair. It may have loosened from general anesthesia during a very recent surgery. Dr. Newman saw me the same day and did an outstanding job. Prior to my arrival, he spent a lot of time researching my dental file, contacted my recent surgeon since procedures should be delayed especially for knee replacement, and obtained approval to perform the procedure. Dr. Newman’s background in infectious disease and immunology may have impressed my surgeon!

The tooth extraction went very well. The dentist provided a pain free experience. However when I called the week before and explained to the secretary it was an emergency, I had an abcessed tooth, had no medicine or antibiotic and could I speak to the dentist or get a call back, she did not pass on the message. I had to go to a walk in clinic and wait with the place filled with very sick people to get an antibiotic. My normally low blood pressure was 147 over whatever. The dentist said she would have called back. Other than that it is always a pleasant place.

We recently moved to the area and a friend referred us here. At my first visit, I had a comprehensive exam with Dr. Sargent that was extremely thorough, informative and helpful. I felt that I was valued as a person and as a patient by all of the staff. I am very grateful to them for their care and professionalism. I am very thankful to have a dentist who cares so much. The appointment took longer than I expected, but I didn’t feel like I was waiting an inordinate amount of time, it was just how long it took because of the extent of the exams. For those of us who don’t have dental insurance, their prices are very fair and they also offer a subscription that is tantamount to insurance and gives an annual savings over $100!

Wonderful staff! Very patient and not judgemental. Dr. Laurie Sargent is the best. She helps you to feel comfortable and is hands down the best for patients with anxiety. She is very kind and takes her time focusing on you and not rushing just to get to the next patient like most doctors. She genuinely cares about her patients and it shows.

The staff were great. Very welcoming and friendly. Dr. Newman was extremely thorough and takes a personalized approach by putting his patients first. He made me feel so comfortable and took much of his time to do a thorough examination. Then clearly explained treatment options, made recommendations, and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend this practice!

I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to be seen by the dentist the same day. They were able to assess the problem and give me a solution to stop the pain. Can’t wait to complete the process and resolve the issue. The staff are friendly, helpful and supportive and that makes all the difference.

Some of the most common reasons you may need oral surgery are removing a tooth that is too damaged to save, extracting wisdom teeth that are painful or causing dental problems, or removing teeth for dentures or other restorations.
For the first 24 hours after your oral surgery, you should not exercise at all. Doing too much too fast can actually create problems and prolong healing. Overexertion can loosen the blood clot from an extraction site and cause a painful condition known as dry socket. After the first 24 hours, limit your exercise to low-impact activities for several more days.
Your pain level will vary depending on the extent of your surgical procedure, your age, and your overall health. For some procedures, you may feel little or no pain as you recover. For more extensive procedures, you may have some soreness. In any case, we’ll provide guidance to help you minimize pain and soreness.
