So the reason I first got interested in dentistry is because of my experience with my own teeth. For the good part of my younger years with teeth that I was not really happy with. I didn’t like to smile and when I was about 16 years old, went to an orthodontist, was able to get my teeth straightened, pulled a bunch of teeth to make room.
I had a lot of crowding. Teeth were just kind of going every direction. The change that occurred in my self-confidence, in being able to smile and not feeling like I had to hide my smile.
That transformation had a huge impact on me and that’s when I first started becoming interested in dentistry. So for me the most rewarding parts of dentistry would be being able to help someone who is in pain, get them out of pain. Secondly, would be helping someone who is unhappy with their smile and helping them to improve their smile, improve their self-confidence.
You know, being able to to smile confidently around friends and family. I do not like to push or sell any kind of dental procedures on anybody. I see myself as a patient advocate and that is to lay out all the choices, the pros and cons, make a recommendation, help the patient understand what possible trade-offs there are.
But ultimately it’s their mouth and they have to decide what’s best for their mouth. Own whatever those decisions and trade-offs are but try to help them come to the best place for their own dental health.

Dr. Adam Fulton’s path to dentistry began with a personal transformation. After years of concealing his smile, undergoing orthodontic treatment didn’t just straighten his teeth – it fundamentally changed his confidence. That experience inspired his career choice. Today he has the privilege of helping others experience similar transformations, whether through relieving discomfort or creating beautiful smiles.
In 2011, Dr. Fulton and his family made the decision to move to south central Pennsylvania, bringing their four children (now five!) closer to loved ones. It’s proven to be a wonderful choice – they’ve grown to cherish both the area and its residents. Fabulous dentist and hygienist. After a terrible year of dental work at a dental clinic called monocacy dental in Frederick, I found this clinic thanks to being referred by a friend. I drive an hour from home to get here, and it’s worth it to me every time. My ONLY complaint is that the office staff is a little frazzled sometimes and so they perhaps get a little forgetful. I had appointments canceled that shouldn’t have been and had to reschedule and then there was a mix up in times. That being said, they still squeezed me in despite it not being the right time. So canceling me when they shouldn’t have and then having a time mix up doesn’t bother me enough to even dock half a star. Dr Fulton and Angie were super accommodating and understanding. The clinic is clean, comfortable, and inviting. Dr Fulton and Angie are incredibly patient and kind and really know what they’re doing and how to make you the most comfortable. I love this dentist office and wish it wasn’t so far away.
