Combining private practice experience in the Phoenix area with service as a captain in the Army National Guard, Dr. Jordan Newman brings a unique perspective to his dental career. His passion for dentistry stems from seeing how a healthy smile can transform not just someone’s appearance, but their entire outlook on life. Known for his welcoming demeanor, he takes time to understand each patient’s needs, provide straightforward recommendations, and deliver exceptional care.

Outside the office, Dr. Newman balances his time between creative pursuits and outdoor adventures. Whether he’s crafting homemade treats for the holidays, creating pieces in his wood shop, or exploring trails with his family, he stays active and engaged. Music holds a special place in his life, especially when he’s playing Billy Joel hits on the piano. A devoted Penn State alumnus, you’ll find him cheering for his Nittany Lions during football season and loyally following every Pittsburgh Steelers game.

Dr. Newman’s accomplishments include:

Graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2018, with a BS in immunology and infectious disease
Graduated from A. T. Still University, Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in 2022, Doctor of Dental Medicine

I became a dentist to help people. That was the main goal. I really wanted to be a clinical researcher.

That’s what I went to school for and that’s why I went to Penn State. But there were multiple times where I would get to the lab before the sun rose, not speak with anyone for over the whole day, and then go home when the sun had already set. And I really liked the interaction between myself and other people.

And unfortunately, during my time as an ant researcher, the ants didn’t really talk back. My dad is a dentist, and I was able to shadow him, and then a couple of his friends. And I really loved the patient interaction and getting to know them, just being able to help the other people out there, whether it’s with their dental needs or just making sure that they have a place to go to get their teeth cleaned.

Just that interaction between myself and the patient is what I really enjoy about being a dentist. The most rewarding is definitely having a patient that appreciates the work that you do. Being able to give them a smile back, being able to give them function where they can chew and eat anything that they want is probably the most rewarding that I’ve had.

I remember those patients probably the most over the couple of years that I’ve been practicing. To finish the treatment after like a year or a year and a half time frame, and then they give you a big hug or a tear rolls down from their eye after they look at their smile when we’re finally finished is the best thing that I could possibly have. And that’s what I look forward to the most.
