Can mouthguards help with TMJ problems?

Yes, mouthguards from an experienced dentist are designed to fit over your upper and lower teeth so that as you sleep, your jaw stays in a forward position to properly realign the joint, as well as prevent you from clenching down and putting excess pressure on your TMJ during the night.

How are mouthguards made?

To make your custom mouthguard, we will first take digital impressions of your mouth (you won’t have to deal with any goop in your mouth). We’ll then use this information to have our local lab partner custom-craft your new mouthguard. You’ll come back into the office when it’s ready, and we’ll make sure that it fits comfortably and provides the protection it should.
